Workshop : Challenges and benefits of implementing intensified and continuous upstream processing strategies
Nowadays, modern facilities are designed for rapid and flexible manufacturing of multiple products. They involve intensified upstream processes to deliver higher protein titers. The combination of those two factors generates a need for process intensification in upstream operations. There are several ways to intensify the cell culture steps such as the N-1 USP intensification, Continuous Cell culture or perfusion, HPH High Productivity Harvest. Choosing the right intensification strategy requires an evaluation of the facility target throughput and number of products to handle.
In this workshop, LFB Biomanufacturing, Sartorius and Repligen invite you to discuss the intensified upstream processing strategies with matter expert. After a quick introduction on innovative upstream technologies (N-1 Intensified USP, Continuous Cell Culture and HPH High Productivity Harvest), we will review during a survey menti session the following topics : technology maturity, main challenges; user experience, regulatory and quality assurance considerations.
